SNAPSHOTS FROM THE GLOBAL DAY OF UNPLUGGING!

People from all over the world took the time to rejuvenate and connect by participating in a global sign off Aug 1-2.  National Day of Unplugging was proud to collaborate with #HalfTheStory, a mental health advocacy organization led by Larissa "Larz" May.  Musicians, artists, community organizers and influencers signed off with a candle lighting and plugged into whatever makes them uniquely human - dancing, laughing, crafting...you name it!

I’m Excited to take part in this global initiative with @globaldayofunplugging x @halfthestory and All of YOU!!! Let’s PLUG INTO THE PRESENT! See you later 👋! Dear Friend: Thank you again for taking the pledge to be present with so many people around the world. Global Day of Unplugging is less than 24 hours away! Here’s a quick guide to get the most out of the day: PICK A TIME… ANY TIME FROM AUGUST 1-2 GDU is from August 1-2 because many of our community members are unplugging in different time zones with varying life situations. You can sign off from sunset to sunset or sunrise to sunrise! MAKE A PLAN These are ways that students, teachers, musicians and many other people across the globe will be doing instead of scrolling, swiping, zooming and texting. We hope you will join us and #PlugIntoLife. Here are a few ways that you can kick-off the weekend. Activities: • JOIN A SIGN-OFF CEREMONY ON SOCIAL MEDIA: A few of our favorite musicians will be hosting events including @jazmingrimaldi , @stolarmusic , @itsnicofranc , @feyermusic , and more! • RSVP TO THE BRICK MODE KICK-OFF ON GDU to get to know each other and share our plans for unplugging on Saturday CHECK-IN WITH YOURSELF Our intention at GDU is to allow you to disconnect from technology and reconnect with yourself. Keep a journal throughout the weekend and take note of the way that you feel. Spark dialogue with your loved ones and set intentions that you can carry with you beyond the big day! You can join us on Sunday, August 3rd at 6:40pm PDT to reflect on your experience with the Brick Community here. What do you want to change about your relationship with technology? What does technology get in the way of in your life? What are the healthy and unhealthy ways that you engage with technology? 💡💪🏼🙏🏻🔌💕🤝 #mental #mentalhealth #wellness #health #detox #bepresent
